Developing A Stronger Rental Market

The animosity over rent has distanced the relationship between landlords and tenants. RentProof has bridged the gap between landlords and tenants and strengthened their relationship by adding the rental history of tenants to their Equifax Credit Reports. RentProof allows tenants to build and maintain a strong credit history without incurring debt whilst maximizing the net operating income of landlords.

Our Story

Founded in 2019 by Toka Murphy, RentProof was built to develop a healthier rental market and strengthen the relationship between landlords and tenants. By adding rental payments to the credit reports of tenants, RentProof allows tenants to build and maintain a strong credit history without incurring debt whilst maximizing the net operating income of landlords.

Before RentProof, the only way to incentivize on-time payments was through the threat of evictions. Now, RentProof allows landlords to positively incentivize tenants to pay rent on-time by enabling tenants the ability of building and maintaining a strong credit history, without incurring debt, by simply paying their rent.

Economic Empowerment

There are more than 9 million Canadians that are either credit unserved or underserved. More than 9 million Canadians have no credit history with the Credit Bureaus, or have insufficient data in their credit report to generate a credit score and or are meeting many of the same financial obligations that the majority of consumers meet but are getting no credit for.

Financial Inclusion

Credit plays a huge factor in one's financial power. There are about 10 million Canadians that are classified as below-prime borrowers. Nearly 10 million Canadians are suffering from high-interest loans.

We believe that financial inclusion is a fundamental right. Our objective is to level the credit playing field while building financial access and inclusion across Canada.

Committed to ESG

With the mutually beneficial service to both landlords and tenants, RentProof targets three criteria topics in the social dimension of ESG: human capital development, housing justice, and financial inclusion and access. We report on impact metrics that matter most to ESG: credit score and credit rate increases, and evictions prevented due to housing stability support.
